Some bright queer lights that I got to photograph in 2020
Through knowing these queer BFF’s through another member of their house, Royal House of Noir in Seattle WA, we got to play around in the studio just Al, Elle and I!
What inspires me the most about these two is HOW comfortable they are in their skin. Even if they we’re nervous before the session, even if they’re have their own insecurities about their body, I wouldn’t of been able to of guessed in a lifetime! When you’re trans, I think there is another level to loving the loving the skin you’re in,, especially when it represents how you truly feel inside, whether that’s more femme, or more masc.
It’s refreshing, yes, to work with those who already come to the session with their feet fully in. I understand that thats not the case for everyone and that’s okay. Just because you see someone else who has stepped into their full authentic self, doesn’t mean it should get you down about yourself. Self love, self acceptance, BODY LOVE and body neutrality, takes time and we are all on our very own little schedules my dear. Instead of self criticism, we need more self acceptance. With seeing more bodies, hearing more stories, and witnessing more bravery, it’s my biggest hope that what you see on my website can inspire you. Step by step, or little by little. Come back here to always be re-inspired until you yourself are ready to step into your power.
Let someone who has stepped into alignment with who they are only inspire you and show you that loving your body is possible and you’re on your way there. Know that you can get to self acceptance because you are worth it, your body is worth it and the world needs you authentic self, as fucking cheesy as that sounds.
