I met these two for the first time on the day of their wedding at the Georgetown Ballroom and it felt just like meeting an old friend.
Alicia and Andrew were the ONLY couple I had this year where I had not previously met them before their wedding. No engagement shoot, no prior meet up before booking, just straight love and trust. We were all going into it blind but also not really blind knowing we all loved Park and Rec so naturally, we had a strong feeling it was going to be a good fit. Walking up and giving them to the biggest hello-hugs felt just like saying hello to someone I had known for ever.
This day was so much fun. Not only was I able to hang out with A&A’s adorable little pup Smokey, but I was also so excited to finally photograph a wedding at the beautiful Georgetown Ballroom! I loved the space and the staff so much and would highly recommend the venue to other couples looking for places to get hitched. It’s got mood, space, cool colorful lanterns and a beautiful outdoor private area for games and cocktail hour!
What made this day extra special was that I got to witness the game Hammerschlagen being played for the very first time. My jaw dropped when I saw what was happening and I stayed for probably a little too long to watch and also take photos of. My next goal in life is to now be a participating member of this game while probably drinking way too many beers <3
