Learning to collaborate, bloom and imagine together is our most powerful attributes as humans. A styled session is such a great experience for growth.
Growth can certainly be done on one’s own and necessary growth, growth that many never go through, has to be done on one’s own. Grow in every direction is beneficial. For myself, learning to grow with others was hard growing up. I never relied on others and leaned on friends for true support. And part of that trauma still is present with myself today. There is this inherent need that I feel like I must do it all on my own. But part of me also loves that. I’m pretty fucking badass and I have shown that to myself over the years. The feeling of accomplishment I have when I complete something on my own, with my own help, determination and knowledge, it’s a great feeling.
But when you can rely and lean on others, as a result, magic truly can happen. Like these photos below. I had an idea, a small little idea that had so much room for creativity in how we would execute these ideas. A reason why I love to work with others, is to see what creative ideas they bring that I may never have thought of, that could change this direction of the session, for better.
When it came to Lauren, my favorite hair and makeup artist, she created these bold, and colorful eye looks for Val and Andrea that I would NEVER of thought of, or even knew how cool it would look photographed. Magic. And when Angele decided to create this beautiful flower wall and lines of flowers traveling up from the ladies hands to the top of their heads, my head was trying hard not to fully explode. Magic.
