Where do I even begin with this…. Ok- we’ll start at 5am at the bottom of Mt. Baring.
I drove my tired ass up to Gold Bar WA where Taylor and Mikey live at roughly 4am to get to their place by 5! They wanted to hike Mt. Baring for their engagement photos, the place where Mikey has proposed to Taylor a couple months ago. He mentioned on the way up, early on, that if Taylor didn’t make it up the day he was to propose, he was going to wait until she did make it. I should of took that as a sign that this was going to be A LOT tougher than I thought.
Long story short, and 13 hours later, we ended that hike just how we started it, tired and and in pitch dark. It was a crazy day. The first time I had ever hiked for engagement photos, and the hike was like a summit for professional damn summit, hikers. I had my work cut out for me, but in the back of my head the only thing I kept repeating to myself was, “You HAVE to make it to the top, Kendra. They are legit paying you to do this.” I think that notion, plus singing Mac Miller in my head all the way up, definitely got me up there. That and the constant support and encouragement from these two.
These two are badass. They like really hike mountains all the damn time. I am in awe at them and how active and cool they are climbing mountains all over the NW. Plus, they are fellow cannabis lovers of mine, you will see some sweet bong rips below. This was the hike of a lifetime for me. Meaning, I will never do it again in my lifetime and I am okay with that. My legs thank me and I also get to remember this mountain in a special way.
That one time I thought I was going to die on a hike and took the most epic on top of mountains photos ever.
